Lessons from Monarchs

Monarchs can teach us great life lessons.

Monarchs can teach us great life lessons.

They go through major changes.

They go through major changes.

It is time for monarch migration.  My church, St. Joan of Arc, does an environmental camp every summer.  This year’s theme was birds, bees & butterflies.  Did you know?

  • Birds, bats, bees & butterflies are important pollinators and critical to our food system.

  • Planting Pollinators & Milkweed in our gardens can help their survival.

  • Did you know monarchs go through 8 major changes or metamorhosis in their short lives?

  • Migrating butterflies travel thousands of miles.

Lessons from Monarchs

  • Life is about constant change

  • Support the next generation

  • You have a purpose

  • Migration can be tough but they don’t give up

Practice these life lessons. We are going through our own difficult times. Embrace change and create a better world . It makes our lives more meaningful and vibrant.

You can help Monarchs survive by creating more habitat for them. Just designate part of your yard to plant milkweed. Here is where you can find milkweed if you cannot find it in the wild:

Monarch butterflies are at risk because of loss of habitat, pesticide use & weather changes.

We can make a difference. I choose to vote with my dollar and buy from companies who have environmental and social responsibility. One of the reasons I have selected to use Young Living products as part of my business is because they make great efforts to improve the health of our planet. Did you know that they have donated land to Nature Conservancy for monarch migration? They also plant milkweed on their farms for the monarchs.

We can improve monarch habitat in our own yards and cities. Start asking farms and companies that you buy products from what are they doing to help save monarchs.
